The largest and most significant Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, a center of spiritual life. A bustling hub of Buddhism with stunning visuals and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for cultural immersion.
 
Location: Örgöö District, about 1.5 km west of Sukhbaatar Square.
Highlights:
  • A 26.5-meter (87-foot) statue of Avalokiteshvara (Migjid Janraisig), made of copper and gilded with gold, rebuilt in 1996 after Soviet destruction.
  • Several temples within the complex.
  • Active monks chanting daily, especially in the morning.
Hours: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (temples may close earlier).
